When does the season start? : The start dates vary each year but typically the older teams [U13 – U19] start the first week of April . The younger teams [U11 + below] are mid-April. We will provide the exact start dates as soon as the district releases that information.
When does my child’s team play?
ACORNS – Starting Saturday April 15th @ 1:30 pm at Squint Lake Park until June 17th
U9 – Games & Practices Mondays & Wednesdays
U11 – Games played Tuesdays & Thursdays / Practices Saturdays
U13 – Games played Mondays & Wednesdays / Practices Saturdays
U15 – Games played Tuesdays & Thursdays / Practices Saturdays
U17 – Games played Mondays & Wednesdays / Practices Saturdays
U20 – Games played Tuesdays & Thursdays / Practices TBD
What equipment does my child need to play?
Uniform : For players in U11-U19, each child will be given a jersey. Our uniform pant is white softball pants – they can be purchased at the below links for prices ranging from $8-40 depending on your preference Prostock , MVP or online HERE & HERE.
Acorns (aka Learn to Play): Acorns will be supplied with shirts. They just need to show up in comfortable, athletic pants and runners.
Equipment: A glove is required and may be purchased at any major sporting goods or department stores for as little as $20 (beginners, 5-7 years) and $100 or more. Helmets with chin straps or compression helmets are required for batters; we recommend purchasing your own for about $30. BMSA supplies pitching masks and catching gear. Some infield players also prefer to bring their own mask.
Proper footwear is required. Recommended is softball/baseball cleats. Soccer cleats are acceptable too. Metal spikes not permitted, only molded cleats. A selection of quality fastpitch certified bats are provided in the coach’s equipment bag; however, many older players prefer to bring their own certified minor fastpitch bat.
